Engine Electrics

The marine engineers at Purbeck Marine all have skills and training in engine electrics, from making up battery cables and battery systems to engine control panels, looms, engine harnesses and senders, we sell, service, repair and install all electrical components relating to engines and equipment. We are also highly experienced in common rail engines and specialise in Yanmar, Nanni and Volvo Penta systems. We carry comprehensive electrical kits in our vans and are regularly sent nationwide and even globally for our services

Domestic & Electronics
We carry out many domestic 12v & 24v tasks in house as we all have the knowledge and equipment to do so however for larger or more specialist electrical jobs we use our highly skilled, reliable electrical contractors. They have a team who can handle the largest of refits and to the highest of standards when required they specialise in 12v, 24v, 240v and even electronics so there is not much between us we cannot do.
Batteries & Charging

At Purbeck Marine we sell, service, test, replace and install batteries regularly, we know the importance of having the correct battery for the specific requirements of the vessel, we also understand that charging these batteries quickly and efficiently is as important as battery capacity as an empty battery is useless no matter how large it is. We have a vast amount of experience and knowledge in battery systems which gives us the ability to carry out almost any battery and charging related tasks.
we can install batteries including fabricating mountings and specialise in bespoke charging system designs, we do this all over the UK as well as globally. We stock common batteries and can procure almost any battery and charger model usually the same or next day.
Starter Motors
& Alternators
All of our engineers have a great understanding of starter motors and alternators, we can diagnose faults and have the skills to replace the most awkward to access units and have a fantastic contractors who either repair your old unit or supplies us with a new replacement. We stock some common units and always aim to give the most efficient and cost effective service possible
Bow & Stern
Thrusters

We are the main agents for Max Power thrusters, they are a very reliable, powerful and cost-effective brand, we also work on most other brands. We carry out servicing, repairs, and installations.
We have installed bow and stern thrusters to leisure and commercial craft from 25ft up to 80ft with hulls made of fibreglass, wood, and steel, this has given us a huge understanding in what’s involved in many different setups and types of hull we can offer the complete package
Anchor Windlasses

We are the area main dealers for Lofrans winches, they are a reliable and versatile brand that are also very cost effective at the same time.
We work on most other brands also and service, repair and install them to many different types of craft, from yachts to motorboats and fishing boats to ferries, there’s not many types of craft that we haven’t worked on
Common Rail Support
​
Over the last few years Purbeck Marine Ltd based in Poole, Dorset have invested a lot of time and money into training and test equipment to be able to look after, install and repair the entire Yanmar and Nanni Common Rail engine ranges. We work closely with E.P. Barrus and A R Peachments to continually increase our knowledge and skills with their full support. We have full licence and certification to use our computer to plug into the engines ECUs to fault find and support.

We have also invested in full control systems and many spare parts for the majority of engines to enables us to provide a prompt fault diagnosis leading to efficient and cost effective repairs in the UK and globally
Generator Services
​
Purbeck Marine has lots of experience in servicing, repairing, installing and rebuilding many different generators, we are area main dealers for Mase but work on many other makes and models for example, Kohler, Fisher Panda, Westerbeke, Beta and much more.
We have carried out this work for the leisure, commercial and military sectors so we know exactly what's involved when looking after them, we also have a local electrical center who carries out the repairs on the power pack units. Please enquire for more information
